1952-1953
Bright Star was also known as the Irene Dunne and Fred MacMurray Show.  The show was only on for one season. Irene Dunne played Susan Armstrong the editor of a struggling newspaper “The Hillsdale Morning Star”. Fred MacMurray plays George Harvey an idealist star reporter who often conflicts with his editor over stories. Fred MacMurray and Irene Dunne work good together as both have excellent comedic timing. Big film stars were used to add to the appeal of the show and gain listeners. I enjoyed listening to these shows being a fan of both performers.
